Pros: Realistic, fun to play, good graphics, great FPS!
Cons: Large system requirements, a little short
The Bottom Line: Aside from some minor flaws, this game has it all. I'm sure almost anyone can enjoy this game.

| skunkmonkey's Full Review: Medal of Honor: Allied Assault For Windows |
Medal of Honor is an excellent game. I had seen its previous versions on the Playstation and Playstation 2 and liked the gameplay. Eventually, I heard Medal of Honor was coming to the PC. My friend purchased Medal of Honor: Allied Assault for me for my birthday. I installed it to my computer, and started to play it. Here's what I have to say about it:
GAMEPLAY:
Well, this game is a great FPS, no doubt about it. You are playing as Lt. Mike Powell who is a soldier in the American Military in WWII. What I like about this game is that it takes you all around Europe. There are 6 large missions each filled with many levels, and countless objectives. You travel all the way from North Africa, to Norway, which keeps you into the game since you arn't always looking at the same boring landscape. I also like the different styles of gameplay that is included in the game. For example, sometimes you are by yourself, disguised as a German, while other times you are along side with fellow American Soldiers at D-Day. There are also a few missions which are pure fun (driving a tank and shooting at buildings along the way) However, I find the most well-done mission and my personal favourite is Omaha Beach, during the invasion of Normandy. In this mission, you are spilled out into the cold waters of Normandy, and slowly, you have to make your way up the beach. There are many objectives in each level, but it's easy to find them with your handy compass. There are however some downsides of the game, very few, but there are some. 1 downside is some of the levels. A few levels really got on my nerves, even on easy mode. I found them to be a little too hard, but maybe I just wasn't used to the game. Also, the game requires a fairly good computer to play. The minimum system requirements are: 450 MHz, 128 MB RAM, and 1.2 GB free hard disk space. Other than that, the game is excellent.
GRAPHICS
The graphics are really good. The levels look fairly realistic, however the character models arn't the best. In the long run, they're better than average.
SOUND
The sound in this game is truly remarkable. There are many accurate sounds in this game. Every sound seems realistic like the shots of guns, and the footsteps on the ground. There is also a little bit of music in the background if you listen carefully. It's not the most "catchy" music in the world, but surprisingly, it adds a lot to the game. Another interesting note is that the German soldiers, sprechen se deutch, or speak German!
MULTIPLAYER
What can I say about the multiplayer. Well, it is a little difficult to play this game online. In other words, to me, it isn't worth the hassle. I'll explain. If you want to play online, I recommend using Gamespy, which you have to download. Then, I had to download some patches, which when you install them, delete all your saved games which I wasn't too happy about. Nevertheless, once you download the required patch(es) the muiltiplayer is addictive. You can either play as a german or american with all the guns you encountered in the story mode. One downside: you probably want a DSL line or better to play online.
CONCLUSION
Well, I recommend this game if you like FPS, and war games. Even if you havn't tried any FPS's, it's a great game to learn, and it does have a training level too. This game has it all: Wonderful graphics, large fun missions, excellent sound, and it even has multiplayer. However, it isn't perfect. It is a fairly short game (I beat it in 4 days on Easy Mode) and some levels I found to be too hard. Other than that, this game is close to perfect, in every aspect.
