Pros: Great idea, direct DVD recording, all digital
Cons: No DVD-Rs, DVD-RWs to use in camera, no assistance from Sony, Camera returned!
The Bottom Line: Do not buy - run from this product!!! They can not support the media, they will not assist, and they simply do not care!!!

I recently purchased this product from Best Buys with their discount coupon. After purchasing this product on Saturday, December, 6th, I tried to find the DVD RWs they promote with the item to save on the cost of the single use DVD-Rs. After being told not only was the DVD-RWs out of stock and being backordered by the manufacture, they also told me, and I confirmed, that the DVD-Rs were not to be found. I have gone on the internet, checked every store in Raleigh, Ashville, Winston Salem all to no avail. I contacted Sony.com and even thier web site could not provide either DVD - all on backorder, "please re-order at a later time"!!! Now I have a 3 pound paper weight, no media to use and non coming soon from what I have been told by Sony. I found with the un-availability of the Sony DVDs, most of the other manufactures have also sold out as well. What impressed me most, or should I say struck me was the complete lack of assistance I received from Sony. They seem to think they have my money, I'll wait on the media. I returned the camera yesterday and from now on will never purchase another Sony product based on this experience. I urge all of you to heed this warning and deal with a reputable company, at least one who backs up their products with service after the sale!!
