Is your coffee table dull and listless? How about that hutch? Does it have such a wax buildup on it that the maple now looks like mahogany or, worse yet, like early barnyard?
Well, do I ever have GOOD NEWS for you!
It’s not named Orange GloŽ Wood Cleaner & Polish for nothing. The name perfectly describes this product.
Packaging Information
As you can tell from the above picture, this is a pretty orange-colored liquid in a trigger-top bottle. The label will tell you that it has the fresh scent of Peeled Oranges, and it truly does.
My bottle is 14-fl. oz. (473ml) and it’s very comfortable to hold and to squeeze the trigger (after you turn it to “on”)
Uses of Orange GloŽ Wood Cleaner & Polish
This is for use on any and all FINISHED wood cabinets or wood furniture. I was surprised to read that it’s good, also, for shower stalls, stainless steel and ceramic tile. It will remove grease, gum, and soap film from items made with these materials.
I can vouch for the way it removes soap film. I have a wooden soap dish on the bathroom wall, which has a plastic base for the soap. This base gets film built up on it and by spraying Orange GloŽ into it and wiping it out with a towel, it cleaned up beautifully. It worked also on the chrome soap holder on our bathtub.
However, I failed to heed a WARNING. When I was testing the efficacy of its cleaning power, I had the bathroom door closed. Bad thing to do, as the label clearly says to use only in well-ventilated areas! I learned the hard way and just want to remind you that the warning has validity. It became very hard to breathe in there and, believe me, I will remember this in the future.
Warnings of Negative Things
This product contains Petroleum Distillates and could be fatal if swallowed. It is so attractive that a child could be attracted to it. So do be careful where you store the bottle and don’t let pets get it, either.
Keep Orange GloŽ away from heat or flame as it’s a combustible mixture.
Avoid prolonged contact with your skin.
Don’t use on floors at all. It’s similar to an oil and would make them very slippery.
Also, don’t use on unfinished wood or lacquered surfaces. – and note that this may darken some natural woods.
Back to the Very Good & Positive Things
Our dining table is pine and the chairs are white. I’ve always loved looking at the pretty grain on the tabletop. But it had gotten rather ho-hum and weary looking from the wax buildup (or neglect).
When I used Orange GloŽ Wood Cleaner & Polish on it, it completely revitalized the table so that it’s a joy to see and to use. It truly glows!
This product not only removed the old wax but it polished the tabletop and I understand it also will protect it, without a waxy look.
To Use: I found out the hard way (when don’t I?) – Don’t spray it on the furniture as you’re probably used to doing with other products, because it will take you too long to dry the surface, and you’d be wasting it.
Instead, spray Orange GloŽ onto a folded cloth and apply it with the cloth, buffing with another cloth. It’s great.
Wait five minutes before buffing if the wax buildup is heavy. Also, wait a few minutes if there are lots of stains or soil.
Orange GloŽ worked wonderfully on all the eclectic wood types in my home, and I’m thrilled with the results. I used it on wood paneling in my dining room and it is now lustrous and rich looking.
I truly love the orange scent this leaves in any room I’ve used it in. It’s almost as good as having a maid around.
Final Remarks
Remember, this is not what we’ve come to think of as FURNITURE POLISH. It must be used in the way the manufacturer intends it to be used, or it will not serve you well.
To me, this is a marvelous, specialized product. It is a Wood cleaner and Polish. It’s that simple. and for me to imply that it’s a “do everything” product would be wrong.
You probably would not use this every day. It, beautifully, cleans, polishes, and protects your furniture. In between uses, dusting will be sufficient.
But when your furniture begins to frown, then just give it a smile, grab a couple of rags, along with that delightful bottle of Orange GloŽ Wood Cleaner & Polish, and have yourself a party.
I simply love it and I know you will, too. You will not believe how beautiful your furniture really is. Enjoy and smell the oranges!
