Pros: Most exciting, powerful, best game system... of the 80's
Cons: No ending to most of the games, actually all of them.
The Bottom Line: It's always nice to show the kids of today what was cool to us when we were kids.

| devila's Full Review: Colecovision |
I still remember going to our local video game retailer, back in the early 80's. That's when Colecvision and Ataris were the "in" thing. Just walking around in shock because of all the cool new games they had. It was like playing a cartoon and it was up to you what the ending was. Actually the only bad thing about Coleco was, there was no ending, the game would just keep going and going. Take Pac Man for example. You could keep grabbing fruits at every level and passing every level, and what would happen? The ghosts would just keep speeding up. Then there was one of my favorites, Lady Bug, I still like playing it every now and then. The furthest I've ever gotten was up to level 30 something, after that I'd just let myself get eaten.
Back to the game itself, before I get to carried away with the actual games. The box it comes in is/was illistrated with various pictures, of various games, the size of the box was a little bigger then a 20 eyelet pair of Dr.Martens shoe box (my fav. shoe too bad theres not a place here for those). About 1/3 of the inside of the box is filled with styrefoam. Did I mention the whole thing wieghs about 10 pounds. The power plug itself probably wieghed at least 5.
What can I say, it was the 80's. And just imagine what our technology will be in 10 more years.
Now if you are experiencing problems with your gaming system, I do have some help here for you.
-Cartridge won't play: try blowing in it, sometimes dust gets in there.
-Game won't turn on: Try moving around the plugs, they always seem to bee the first to go.
Those are about all the problems I've had with the ancient thing.
If you'd like to pick one up somewhere, check garage sales and the Recycler (you know the paper), they go for about $10, and that includes the games!
