Shipping charges at Collegiate Mall.com are based on weight, but usually come up to approximately 5-10% of the order’s total value. The shipping charges are easily seen when viewing each individual item. Collegiate Mall.com ordinarily ships within 48 hours of ordering, and due to their method of shipment they are only able to ship within the continental US.


CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ORDERING INFORMATION

Collegiate Mall.com accepts the standard Visa, Mastercard, and Discover as methods of payment.

I did not have to make a return, but it seems as though the return process is somewhat restrictive. You have to call their customer service telephone number to get an RA# (Return Authorization). They will refund within 10 days of receipt only. If the item is being returned for a reason that isn’t damaged or defective, then they charge a hefty 15% restocking fee. Also, Collegiate Mall.com will only pay for the return shipping if the item is damaged or defective – otherwise, it’s your responsibility.

MY EXPERIENCE AND FINAL RECOMMENDATION

I went to Collegiate Mall.com to shop for a bean bag. I found that for what I was looking for, there was a large and varied selection. Some of the other sections did not have much to choose from at all – for example, there are only 2 dressers on the site. Some of the items seem to be highly expensive as well, and the shipping can get “up there” too. I did find what I was looking for though – an awesome crushed velveteen bean bag for $84.99 $18.95 shipping. Yes, it was expensive, but hard to find elsewhere. Placing the order was simple, and I received a quick email verification that they were processing my order. I received my bean bag via Fed Ex Ground 7 business days after placing my order. It felt like a long time to me, but ground service can generally take anywhere from 3-5 business days – plus the order processing time.

Overall, I did not have any specific problems with my order or with the site. If you find what you’re looking for on this site and the price is right, I’d say go for it – but definitely shop around, as the prices seem to be a bit steep.
