Pros: excellent anti-skip; holds approx 150 songs per cd
Cons: poor user interface design; cheap feeling buttons; doesn't display song titles
The Bottom Line: This was a great player. But now there are second generation CD based MP3 players that I would recommend trying.

Being one of the very first CD based MP3 players, the MPTrip was an excellent solution to your portable mp3 playing needs. Instead of packing ~15 songs on an expensive memory card, users can have ~150 songs on a $0.50 CD-R. The player can also play CD-RW and regular CDs.
Anti-skip
Probably one of the best features about this player. It features a 50 second memory so the songs will keep playing if the disc skips. Actually, when I first got this player I decided to test this feature. I literally banged on the player until the disc even stopped spinning, but the music kept playing. Disc skipping is something you won't need to worry about with this player. On the downside, this memory feature sucks the life out of your batteries.
MP3 Title display
THERE IS NONE! You better know what song number 124 is because that's just about all it's going to tell you.
User Interface
This player is poorly designed. The buttons are cheap, extremely small, and hard to press. There are some bad desicions about button placement as well. For example, the 'next' button is on the left of the 'back' button. What's the deal with that?
Despite the poor user interface and the fact that the batteries don't last too long, this was a great player. But now there are second generation CD based MP3 players that I would recommend trying. The MPTrip does the trick, but it's not the best out there anymore.
