Unfortunately, there isn't a better place for these comments that I found. The online service for at&t doesn't allow any major account changes online. You have to call and wait on hold to change much besides sms messages or other minor details. I tried to replace my phone online and couldn't do it without agreeing to all sorts of nonsense that was not required when I called by phone. It's basically a trap for people who don't want to take the time to call. Because of all of the trouble I decided to cancel my account. I couldn't cancel the day before my contract ended, and I called three days after and had to pay a whole month more. Was the $20 worth me making sure I tell EVERYONE I meet about my horrible ordeal?
I left at&t because I needed to replace a broken phone, and no matter what option I asked about (even using a phone from my friend that I didn't buy from them) it always involved signing a 2 year contract. I probably would have stayed for 2 years or more had they just treated me with respect and not as a prisoner. Someone used the term "predatory tactics" and that is perfect. Treat me as a customer and not an inmate, make your overpaid webprogrammers create a decent system, and then maybe you won't have to sell to Verizon (or whoever bought them, I can't keep up)
