Pros: Cheap family plan and no roaming charges
Cons: Poor customer service, spotty reception, unreliable in an emergency
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend T-Mobile because their customer service is terrible and no one is accountable for anything there.

| eastender's Full Review: T-Mobile Phone Service in Philadelphia |
I'm disappointed in T-Mobile. The reception is spotty in the Philadelphia area but, worse still, is trying to get a signal while traveling outside of the city area.
However, the main reason why I'm leaving T-Mobile is because of the customer service. Besides the spotty coverage, I hadn't had much difficulty with T-Mobile and I thought that it was a good buy at $49.99 for a family plan that worked will for our needs vs. spending between $10 and $20 more per month for similar service from another provider.
The problems arose when I actually needed some help from customer service. Each person I've spoken to at their customer service department has given me different information. One of our phones was lost and such a seemingly normal event has lead to an endless stream of customer service calls on our parts and it's been a real pain. The worst part of the whole experience is that the information you get over the phone seems to be just a crapshoot depending solely on who answers the phone. And, even though their own phone records also show that what they are telling you is different from what they told you before, they are unwilling to stand by what the previous rep said so you really never know for sure where you stand.
I have to finish out my contract with them to avoid paying a termination fee. But once it's done I will gladly pay extra every month to a different provider just so I never have to deal with them again. I'm so disgusted at this point that I won't even go see a Cathrine Zeta Jones movie!
