Pros: $10 less than Xbox Controller S, centralized Start and Back buttons, Black and White buttons
Cons: Rubber grips are unnecessary
The Bottom Line: Save ten dollars buying this controller instead of the Xbox S. Eclipse has a better layout of buttons.

Pelican Eclipse
I recently received a Xbox as a gift for my birthday. The only thing missing from the bundle was that crucial extra controller to play multiplayer games. I saw this controller for ten dollars less than the Xbox Controller S controller and thought 'this would do, I didn't have to use the second controller anyway'.
Just for fun, I plugged it into the one player slot and took the Pelican Eclipse for a test drive. Well, it has stayed in my one player spot and will not be going anywhere.
At First Look
The rubber grips on the sides are a turnoff, because I thought the controller would feel significantly different. The addition of the extra black and white buttons at the top was a plus. That feature combined with price made me buy this controller.
A Better Design than the S
This controller keeps the compact feel of the S, but improves on button layout. First, there are two sets of buttons for black and white. There is a set where they are for the S and a set above the triggers.
The Eclipse also moved the start and back buttons back to the center. Also, the cord has a few more inches added to it to make an even ten feet. Other than that, the controller has the same layout and feel to it. The rubber grips neither add nor take away from the controller.
Price
The price is the best feature. You can save thirty dollars buying three extra controllers if you buy the Eclipse. That is a whole Xbox game!
