playlikeapro's Full Review: 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser
Few cars provide such a wonderful experience for under $20,000. This is the latest addition to my collection, having already a Chrysler 300C, Buick Regal, Ford Taurus, a Grand Caravan, and a Dodge Ram, our driveway is getting quite full. However this baby goes in the garage. When I first saw the convertible Pt cruiser on the lot I was instantly sold on the looks. I looked at the price tag and found it to be a bit much, nearly $28,000. So I gave them my name and they called me a week or two ago telling me that they had a model in for $19,995, but we haggled it down to $19,000. We got ours in the cool vanilla color. When you first look at it with the top up, it may seem a bit odd compared to the more classic non-convertibles. However, once you realize it really does look good, you'll love it. Inside, it is actually very spacious for a convertible. The front seats fold down partially to allow the back seat passengers to climb comfortably in. Once inside, the back seat passengers find themselves with plenty of room. The top goes down rather quickly compared to my old Chrysler Sebring which I traded in for this. Simply pull down and turn the knob, press the button and the rear windows go down followed by the actual top. Compared to some other convertibles, even on the highway going 70 MPH, you can talk to the other passengers easily with the top down. This is possibly assisted with the sport bar they put on it which also houses the compartment for the seat belts. The engine has no problem when I need to pass someone, and the styling of the vehicle attracts many looks. I was stopped at a light, and a passer-by said "Nice ride!". Gas mileage isn't too bad, I usually experience about 23 - 25 MPG. It has halogen headlamps which really help in the dark. Rear trunk space is actually very good. You can fold down the back seats if you need extra room. Overall, if you're looking for a good comfortable convertible in the $20k range, look no further than the PT Cruiser convertible.
