Pros: Able to find work anywhere, to support self & family, autonomy, caring for fellow humans.
Cons: Stress, feelings of disempowerment, mainly by hospital administrators, pay does not reflect what we give.
The Bottom Line: Can you express yourself in a non confrontational/non judgemental way?
Can you speak up for yourself & for your needs? Are you trustworthy & honest?

| nurjamila's Full Review: Nursing Profession |
The rewards come from within, yet, what other white collar profession tops out at $50,000? Can you care for yourself as well as you care for other people? Hospitals are open 24/7 but nurses are human beings & not able to work without rest. Are you able to say no when you find yourself emotionally or physically exhausted? Are you able to give a little more than what's expected when you do work? It's very important to know what you want & need & to be able to express oneself in healthy ways.
Don't expect hospital administrators to provide you with emotional support, they are a big problem in the nursing field.
