| mountainmom62's Full Review: Eureka Smart 4870DT Bagged Upright Vacuum |
After reading Consumer Reports and the reviews here I decided to purchase the Eureka Smart Vac. Mine is a Eureka Smart 4870F. I love it!
I have a German Shepherd with a medium length coat who sheds a lot. I also have a cat and live down a dirt road. I have lots of sand and dirt tracked into the house. I filled the first bag with the first use. I could hear the sand being sucked up. The dog hair disappears easily the first time. The on-board tools did an excellent job cleaning my furniture. Once again the dog hairs were gone quickly, not the case with my previous machine.
This machine is remarkably quiet and easy to use. It is easy to push and pull. The placement of the tools make them easily reached.
My only complaints are the accessory hose is short and stiff and I have trouble engaging the brush roll control. It is stiff and I don't have the strongest hands. After a bit of messing around I can get it engaged. I think with practice it will be easier.
The weight is not an issue for me. It is comparable to my old Dirt Devil machine. I am a slight person and don't have trouble getting it lifted. I really like the carrying handle. It is comfortable.
