The battle begins.....
After Blockbuster noticed the decrease of their in store movie rentals they were a little late on catching on with the online movie rental nonetheless I had to give them a shot. I've been a member with Netflix for over 2 years and have to say that I love them! But I decided to see what Blockbuster has to offer since they also offered a 2 week trial.
Signing up...
Signing up was easy nothing to it just some info, address, credit card number, etc...
If you are a first time user you get 2 weeks free trial. Same as Netflix.
Selection...
The selection was pretty good but if you are into foreign films than Blockbuster is nothing compared to what Netflix has to offer. Now if you are not a Netflix member you are not allowed to browse through their selection, but for Blockbuster anyone is free to see what they've got.
Netflix gets the point!
Ease of ordering...
The website site is simple to use just type in the name of the movie or search by category. You can put tons on movie in your queqe so that you won't have to go on for weeks if you want...they'll just keep coming in order.
Same as Netflix.
Shipping...
This however is the biggest drawback, it took me well over 5 days to get my first movie (1 DVD not 3 like it said I would). Now I'm use to Netflix where my first movie only took 2 days. After receiving it and being dissapointed with the shipping I was hit with a second disappointment when they sent me the wrong one). So back into the envelope it went.

Returning...
I check my computer every couple of hours and it took 3 days after I sent the movie back for Blockbuster to list it as "return" in my account were as it takes only 1 days for Netflix. Big part of this has to do with the what I call "mini stations" these 2 companies have filling their orders. I live in Chicago and since this is a major city Netflix has a mini station just across town so mail takes onyl 1 day. Blockbuster's mini station was definitely farther then that..now I don't remember right off the top of my head exactly far but it was something like Nevada. You would expect a big company to have more places to fill their orders.

What about the other movies?.....
Well I received 2 more 2 days after I got the first movie. So according to my calculations you get 2 to 3 movies a week. This was disappointing to me because for Netflix if you return them the next day after you complete watching them you can get up to 6 a week.

Conclusion...
After ending my 2 week trial I've decided not to continue the membership. I've received only 6 movies total minusing 1 that was a mistake so 5 good ones in all. Blockbuster online was a total disappointment. Until they upgrade their service and decrease them time it takes for me to recieve my movies, I'll stick with NETFLIX!
