Excellent Selection, Prices, and Free Shipping - What's Not to Like?

Deep Discount DVD
For the past year I’ve been getting my DVDs from Deep Discount DVD. I discovered it after reading a review by one of my favorite Epinions reviewers, Jack Sommersby, who was all agog about the selection and low prices. Since I consume DVDs at a ferocious rate, but dislike rentals, I went to their website and had a look.
What I found was a pretty well designed interface with a wide selection of DVDs, sortable by genre, directors, actors, and so on. The prices really opened my eyes also, as movies I had typically paid $14.00 for were available for $9.95; Ten-dollar DVDs were around six bucks. I put together an order of ten DVDs and paid all of $80.00, an average of eight bucks apiece. Several were Clint Eastwood Collection films that sell for over ten bucks at your local brick and mortar store, sometimes $14.95.
I am usually skeptical of claims of superiority for various stores but when I established my account, selected my DVDs, and went to checkout I selected the option for free delivery. The site claims 5 – 10 business day delivery for its free shipping. I sent the order on a Friday and my DVDs were in my mailbox by the next Tuesday. That’s all of two business days. Of course, they have several options for expedited shipping, but with that kind of service I could afford to wait. Several orders since then have came through with flying colors also. I really like the convenience of selecting your DVDs, firing off an order and receiving them through the mail about four or five calendar days later.
When you establish your account, you can make a wish list, putting all your prospective favorites in there so you have something to go back to over time. I’m at the point where I have a hundred or so DVDs listed and any time I want to make an order I just go to my wish list, select what I want and place the order.
The selection is fabulous; with many DVDs you don’t see on the racks of your local video store. I recently bought 3 Anthony Mann-directed police dramas that are sorely underappreciated for $6.00 apiece, delivered. These three films are essential for film noir fans and very difficult to find elsewhere. Deep Discount DVD came through again, delivering them to my door in about 5 calendar days. They also have the latest releases just like everywhere else but the prices are usually better and with the free shipping with no minimum number of disks, it just makes sense to go with the best bang for your buck.
I just placed another order for “Gun Crazy” which is available for $19.95 if you can find it. Deep Discount DVD charged me $14.98 with free shipping. By the time you read this I will probably be enjoying it and getting ready to write down my thoughts for another review.
I hope this helps you DVD fans who like to purchase but hate to see how much they cost, pay shipping, tax, and so on. By ordering on-line, you avoid the taxes and shipping, at least, with Deep Discount DVD.
