| lmoore00's Full Review: LG VX6100 Cellular Phone |
The VX6100 is a great phone from LG. I recently upgraded to this phone from a Motorola T720. My Motorola died and I decided to go with LG. LG (Life's Good) is a dependable company for cell phones. They make sturdy, quality phones and low prices. No wonder Verizon decided to buy their products. The pros for this model is a great speakerphone, an awesome voice command system, a nice size screen, great service and call quality through Verizon, and customizable features such as ringtones, wallpapers, and greetings via an optional USB connection. On the downside, this phone is a little bulky, heavy, and does not include any bluetooth functionality.
The speakerphone is great for this model. It is not loud and the sounds are easily noticeable and clear. The voice command system is unique. You simply push a button and you have the option of saying a list of commands. Examples are "Digit Dial" and "Contacts". If you say "Contacts", for example, the phone will ask you which one of your contacts you wish to dial. If you say, "John Doe", for example, the phone will say, "did you say...John Doe??" If you say, "Yes", the phone will dial the contacts number. This feature is really cool because you dont have to program your own voice commands into the phone like other models.
The screen size is nice and all the colors are vibriant and clear. The camera is a VGA smart camera and offers suprisingly good resolution. Its not good for taking far-away shots but excellent for close-up shots.
Verizon offers excellent service for its customers. I have had no problems connecting to the netowrk with this phone. The call times have been clear and the quality is great. You can take pictures with the camera and send them to any call number you wish, for a price of course. Verizon recently has offered a $5 a month charge to send unlimited text and picture messaging to other Verizon customers. The services are called TXT messaging and PIX messaging. The Get it now feature is great if you want to download ringtones, wallpapers, games, email clients, chat clients, or other programs.
The battery life has been excellent so far, lasting for about 8-9 hours on a single charge.
The only downsides to this unit are that it is bulky and a little heavy. Also, there is no bluetooth connectivity, which would have been nice. However, this is a great camera phone for average to above average cell phone users. Pick this one up, you WON'T be let down!!!
