WARNING: Deceptive advertising/hidden costs

When you sign up for eDiets at $2.99/week, you DO NOT receive a diet plan. The general subscription is $2.99/week (for very little that is useful), with diet plans starting at an ADDITIONAL $2.99/week, payable QUARTERLY. So, after you've been billed $11.96 for your first month, you will be billed additional $36+ for whatever diet plan you choose. The signup process certainly leads one to believe that you will be receiving a diet program (guidelines, meal plans, etc.) with your basic membership.
Additionally, take extra care when clicking through to the next screen during the signup process. They check off several options which incur additional fees, and it is up to you to unclick them before proceeding.
If you sign up and decide to cancel, be sure to do so THE SAME DAY, or you will be charged a $25 early termination fee. You can only cancel by phone, and it took me about 25 phone calls before I was able to reach an representative. 20+ times all circuits were busy, twice I was disconnected, and once I was on hold for 30 minutes before hanging up. On my final attempt, I was on hold for 15 minutes, reached a representative, and was able to cancel in time to prevent the $25 termination fee.
Had they honestly disclosed the full amount for a diet program up front, they would have my business. However, their deceptive advertising practices will prevent me from ever being a customer.
