The TDK Velo 12/10/32 CD-RW Drive is a CD Rewriter that will amaze you forever. I have never owned a cd rewrited until this year. I have read reviews abuot other rewriters and have generally ready that it takes an average of half an hour to write a cd. I did not like that so i decided not to get one then i got one as a gift, but through my skepticism, i was amazed.For those of you who dont know, a CD-RW is a device that allows you "burn" or write information onto a cd as an alternate to the floppy disk. A cd can hold about 80 mb of information which is signigigantly more than a floppy disk. This is an alternate to a Zip Drive also. In adition to the fact that it can store big important presentations and projects for work, it can creat music cds that can be played on any normal cd player. With this feature you can create a cd with all of you favorite songs and put it on one cd. This puts and end to switching cds all the time. A bulk of blank cds and run from 50 blank cds for $20.00(US Currency) to 100 blank cds to $40.00 (US Currency)
Describe Your experiences with this device
I decided to try to install this device by myself instead of going to the local computer store. The CD-RW came with a video tape that walked me through the installation step by step. This was a factor that mad the installation process a lot more user friendly. After Installing the CD-RW, i had to installthe software which took about 5 minutes, then i was ready to start buring cds.
Why did you purchase this device?
As i metioned before i did not purchase this product, i got it as a gidt, but i recommended my mom give me this paticular CD-RW because of the Speed it can burn a CDs which is about 10-15 minutes.
How does this device connect to your computer
This device is and internal drive. This means that it is inside of my computer connected to a IDE cable. IDE stands for Internal Drive extension, which is a cord inside of my computer that connects this device with the Hard Drive.
Does this device come with any backup software, or Productivity?
Yes this computer comes with multiple programs that are able to copy music cds, create music cds, copy data cds(some games), creat data cds.
Who do you recommend this device to?
I recommend this device to anyone who is coputer user who likes the idea of creating a custom music cd or having a CD for huge files instead of the more expensive Zip disk.
