| wardnkathy's Full Review: Epson Stylus Photo 1280 |
The Epson 1280 prints excellent photo quality prints when it works. Often when I tried to print I would get a "communication error." I tried different USB cables, ports, and reinstalling the drivers. I also e-mailed their customer support for help. I still got "communication error" often when I tried to print. Each time it would waste expensive paper and ink since part of a photo is not much help. I found out this seems to be a common problem by searching the Internet. The only sure solution seems to be to switch to using the parallel interface instead of the USB interface.
I purchased this printer because I wanted a wide format photo quality inkjet for a low price. This printer handles paper up to 13 inches wide. You can use sheets up to 13 X 19 inches. You can also use roll paper. I also really liked how it could make borderless prints. I also liked the FilmFactory software that came with the printer. It makes printing various size prints a snap.
Although it was cheap to buy the printer, the wasted ink and paper made it a bad deal in the end and I returned it for a refund.
