The Bottom Line Sharp video quality friendly software excellent low-light mode great tilt/swivel bases
The Webcam is all most like the digital camera and camcorder there still evolving.
What i have done is made a list of what to look for when buying a Webcams. Most Webcams are equipped with USB technology, which lets you plug the unit into a small port on your computer and get up and running right away. One thing is you'll need at least a 166MHz Pentium with an OS of Windows 98 or later; if you have an older computer, only a PCI-based Webcam will be compatible. Then again, if you have an older computer, you probably won't get the most out of your Webcam anyway.
The standard resolution setting for a Webcams is 640x480. Also before you buy, you should check out still images under various lighting conditions. The frames-per-second determines how quickly the Webcam can capture and move video. The fewer frames per second, the poorer the picture. Full-motion video is generally 30 fps. Keep in mind that Webcam video broadcasts are limited by the speed of your internet connection, video works best with a high-bandwidth connection. Almost all Webcams that i have seen come bundled with videoconferencing software such as MS NetMeeting software for video editing, surveillance, stop motion, videoconferencing or e-mail. There our other alternative considerations then the Webcam If you just want to send digital images over the Internet, you might be better off with a digital camera rather than a Webcam. Digital cameras allow you to transfer digital pictures to your computer, and then use software to edit the pictures. You can e-mail the pictures to friends, and famliy or store them on your hard drive.
