So, you are stuck on thinking of what kind of video card you want to get because the one you have just isn't doing you any good?? Well look no more, you will want to get a geforce 2 mx no question about it.
About 100 bucks and you can pick yourself up one of these great cards. I just got one a week ago to replace my voodoo 3 3000 and i was amazed!! It has 32bit graphics instead of 16 and i can actually turn up the graphics way up in all my games and it doesn't slow down at all!!! One of the neatest and sort of weirdest features of this card is it actually speeds your computers bootup time by far. I have no idea how it does this but it does...
In my opinion i don't think you actually have to spend anymore money on the more expensive video cards because i think the geforce 2 is all anybody really neads. High resolutions, smooth gaming and a good price,,, what else can you ask for????
Also with its support for agp 4x you can have double the speed then the older cards which only have support for agp2x and 1x. Another thing is that it is very easy to install. Pop out your old video card put in this one and then install the drivers and you are set. You might be still thinking i have seen diferent geforce2mx cards by different companies... Like nvidia, asus, or even the vision tech one. I have the asus one and i have heard that it is slightly better than the other ones. So i would recomend you getting the asus one.
For those of you who want technical information of the card take a look at this:
Powered by the NVIDIA GeForce2 MX - the World's Newest Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)
Built-in 32/16MB SDRAM - Provides more resolutions and color depths with up to 2.7GB/sec bandwidth
TwinviewTM true dual-display support (TV-out/DVI models only) - Brings more productivity
Dual-texture pixel-fill capacities - Sets a new milestone for realism.
700 Mtexel (million texel) fill rate - Performs up to 1.5x improvement over GeForceTM with over 20M triangles/sec through T&L/Setting
Optimized for DirectX® 7 and OpenGL® Features - Ensure broad application support
Are you wondering if your computer can handle this card?? well here are the requirements:
Baically a pentium or higher computer or equivelent
1 agp slot.
16 megs of ram
and about 50 meg hard drive space left
Overall I personally would give this a rating of 5 out of 5 and i think you would too. So have fun with your new card and excellent gaming.
