I actually purchased this Kaboom Foaming Toilet Cleaner about 3 weeks ago. Last week was the first chance that I had to try it out. A while ago I had placed one of those blue Vanish Drop In's, in my toilet tank. I didn't want to try out this Kaboom Toilet Foaming Toilet cleaner until the Vanish Drop in had completely stopped turning my toilet water blue. I didn't want to take the chance on using 2 cleaners at the same time which could lead to a chemical hazard.
So when my toilet water had finally turned to it's normal clear color, I was ready and anxious to try out this Kaboom Foaming Toilet Bowl Cleaner.
FEATURES:
The Kaboom Toilet Cleaner comes in a plastic 32 oz.container of a white powdered cleaner in it. When I removed the cap, it looked just like powdered Tide.
On the inside of the cap there are markings that indicate how much to use.
It can be used with a toilet bowl brush, or it can be used without a bowl brush.
The Foaming Cleaner when used will magically foam up to the rim, and thoroughly clean all of that gunk that's hiding under the rim.
It's also Safe for septic systems.
GETTING READY:
After reading the back and all of the instructions, I was now ready to try it out. The first thing I did was to shake the container like it said to get all of the clumps out. I decided to try it first using my toilet brush. According to the directions I had to fill the cap to the 1/3 marking inside the cap, which I did do. I poured the powder into my toilet, and as soon as the powder touched the water, it started it's foaming action. As soon as the foam started to break up, which took about 2 minutes, I brushed the bowl and then flushed. The few stains that were in bowl had vanished.
Next I added a full capful as the directions stated, so the foam would go up and under the rim of my toilet. WOW, I thought as I watched the foam bubble up to the rim of the toilet. Now I started to panic a little. Is the foam going to overflow my toilet and on to my bathroom floor. As I watched this creamy solution foaming up, it reminded me of soft gobs of whipping cream. Up and up my toilet bowl it went gently foaming. Then all at once it stopped foaming just before it reached under my bowl rim. So I added a little more of the powder to the water and it started foaming again. It finally did reach under the rim and stopped foaming.
Then I waited for about 20 minutes, until the foam started breaking up. I finally flushed the toilet. Then I checked under the rim and it did remove the nasty gunk that was there. I'm now happy to say that under my rim is as clean as the rest of my toilet bowl is right now. I think once I do continue to use this Kaboom Foaming Toilet Cleaner regularly, I won't be getting a build up of those nasty stains under the rim. These stains are the ones that will give off those offensive odors in the bathroom.
FRAGRANCE:
I was quite happy with the fragrance. It wasn't an overpowering caustic smell that you get with some other toilet bowl cleaners. In fact it was a very nice clean and fresh odor. I didn't even have to open my bathroom window to ventilate my bathroom, and it left my toilet bowl fresh, and deodorized.
CAUTIONS:
This Kaboom Foaming Toilet Cleaner should be kept up and away from pets and children.. This effervescent cleaning powder does resemble whipped cream when it's foaming. To a small child they could try to get their hands in the bowl, and possibly put it in their mouth. So caution should be used while your using this cleaner in your toilet with small children around. It can also cause skin and eye irritation. When not in use it's a good idea to keep the container sealed up tightly, stored up high, and away from small hands.
Never mix this cleaner with any other household cleaners, because chemical gases could result. If this does happen open a window to ventilate and leave the room immediately
MY FINAL RECOMMENDATION:
I was thoroughly happy with the results of this Kaboom Foaming Toilet Cleaner. It not only got my toilet bowl clean, but left my bathroom with a slightly pleasant fragrance. I liked the way it foamed up under the rim of the toilet bowl. I didn't even have to use my toilet brush under the rim to clean it, as the effervescent foaming action of the Kaboom Toilet Cleaner did all the work for me.
I also liked the idea that I can use this Kaboom Foaming Toilet Cleaner to clean out that ring of stain in the bowl by only using 1/3 of the cleaning solution with only a minimal brushing. I will use it once a week to just clean and deodorize the toilet bowl. For a more thorough cleaning I will use more of the cleaning solution to foam up and under the rim in my toilet every other week to keep that gunk from coming back and accumulating under the rim.
So whether you use this Kaboom Foaming Toilet Cleaner for just a touch up cleaning or a deep cleaning, it will loosen up and remove those tough stains, while it leaves your toilet fresh, clean and deodorized. I do highly recommend it.
