| jlkp2102's Full Review: iRiver T10 (1 GB) MP3 Player |
Whats all the rage about I-pod Nano these days? Sure it looks pretty and wows people with its look factor but come on, folks, the battery lasts only 14 hours. With daily usage, its going to be more like 8 to 10 hours by the second year. Thats the main reason I chose not to go with I-pod Nano. Instead, I got myself this a bit bulkier T10-1GB. And Im glad I went with that player.
Believe it or not, what sets this player apart from other mp3 players, physically, is the simple clip on metal. It is so useful to hang on to things and gives the look that you enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle. The player itself is a little bulky compared to other flash players and it feels like king size snicker bar cut in half. But with all the mp3 players going small and cutesy, this player stands out from the crowd as Im rugged and manly.
But the main reason why I bought this mp3 player is the battery life and the type of battery this player use -- double A battery. And you get 45 hours out of it -- thats over three times more than what a Nano can give you. With rechargeable batteries and T10-1GB, its a great combo for listeners.
The player sound quality is comparable to Zen micro 5GB I used to own. Id have to say sound quality is rather impressive for a flash player. Considering Zen micro was touted as one of the best sounding MP3 players, T10-1GB sound quality wont disappoint at all.
Functionality wise, the player isnt hard to use. I didnt read the manual at all. I played around with the player for about 10 minutes and was able to figure out all the functions/features. Date and time feature is a great addition by the way, which many MP3 players lack.
I just hate it when an MP3 manufacturer forces you to install their useless junk software in order to upload songs. Its a waste of hard drive space and time. When you connect this player to PC, it shows up as sort of like an external drive. Its really convenient since I can just drag and drop file. And of course, like many flash MP3 players, this player comes with recording and FM features. The only thing I would criticize so far is the duplication of files. When copying a song or two to this player, files can show up as duplicates when theyre really not. So it is best to copy almost 1GB worth of songs you like to a specific folder first and then copy everything to the player. If youre going to copy a song or two here and there can result in confusion.
Bottom line: this player gives an active lifestyle character. While other players are competing to be smaller and cuter, this player gives a bold look and metal clip on is very useful. What can I say about battery life? Thats the best part. And you wont hear any sound quality complaints from me. I recommend it.
