THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE RESOLUTION

Sep 15 '01

The Bottom Line I hope we can come out from this tragedy a better people all around the world.

I'm not sure if this is on topic but I just need to get things off my chest......

What happened yesterday is a horrible horrible thing. Yet we must forward in the right direction now and learn from all this, that is the only good thing we can do.

Right now, as we sit comfortably reading our epinions, countless paramedics, police officers, firemen, doctors and even pharmacists are fighting an uphill battle to save as many human lives as possible by searching and helping the sick and wounded. Also, as we turn off our lights to go to sleep, the men and women of our armed forces will be taking steps to protect us all as we sleep. I even heard that the plane crashed in philadelphia because the passengers tried to stop the plane from hitting the white house. All these people are such great heros, more than any guy who hits 70 homeruns or that wins a football game. These average people are rising above what they normally do, and they will forever be idols in my eyes.

I'd just like to point out some things... First what bothers me is how I have heard report of people beating up others who are of Muslim religion. This is wrong and by doing this we are all lowering ourselves to the terrorist's level. We're not even sure yet who did this... these people who did this are not of real religion.... they are just of real evil. (In the Muslim Koran, it states that you must not kill another human being) Not all Muslims or Palestinians are terrorists, many are against it as was seen the other day as some revolutionary groups started bombing places where Bin Ladin is staying. So if you have a Muslim friend, don't look at them in a bad way, instead be happy that they were able to see what is right and to not go along with doing what is wrong. These people are not real Muslim, they are just animals.

Also, we must not forget to look at ourselves and think about why this happened. Yes, retaliating against the enemy for justice is one thing we can do but we must not forget our own errors as a culture as a whole. Too many of us, especially the young, are too lucky to have our freedoms handed to us on a silver platter. We just accept the fact that we have all this freedom without even thinking what it all came from. We sit back and think about how
the United States is the greatest country yet this causes us to be arrogant in our views towards others. We seem to not pay attention to the horrors going on like this every day in other countries and now we will finally know that we must work together as a world and not just as a country to fight the evil that is upon the earth. There is too much hate still going on whether it is terrorists or hatred towards racial groups. We must all learn how to accept others and not just think of ourselves. We must learn what is really important about life. Isn't it weird that in one inning Alex Rodriguez makes more money playing baseball than those fireman do in a whole year? We need to get our priorities straight. We have so much good about this country, we must now learn how to use that good and make this country an even better place than before.

The thing that bothers me is how some kids today go back to school and seem to not care at all about what happened. When teachers talk of it, I just hear people behind me talking about other trivial stuff. It is so disrespectful to tens of thousands of people to not pay attention to what is going on. The reason why most of this happened is because many of us don't care enough and think only about ourselves. This isnt just the case with what happened yesterday but also the reason why divorce rate is so high and why kids solve problems with guns. I hope, as hard as it seems, that positive things will come out of all of this. This is the worst thing I have ever experienced in my life and now I will think twice before I do wrong upon another human being. I hope this will bring us closer together and also teach us how to care for others. I didnt lose anyone that I knew yesterday, yet I still felt great pain for the losses others experienced. They died in a very tragic way and we must all learn to care about others so these kinds of things do not happen again. Instead of just thinking of ourselves, we must learn to take
care of each other so we can grow stronger as a people as a whole. Just a smile or a hello can make a difference in each person's life every day. This tragedy should make us grow together as a whole and learn to love and not to
hate.

One last note is that some gas stations have taken advantage of this chaos and even had gas as high as 4 dollars a gallon. This is extremely wrong as well as illegal, and if you see this, make sure to report them ASAP. Also I've heard of telemarketers that are taken advantage of this and pretending to be collecting for the cause but instead are taking the money. Make sure to report them and also tell me about them because i'd like to kick their a** because what they are doing is very very wrong.

Justice is the only solution, not death.

Pass this on to others if you'd like...
