I have been a customer of Smith & Noble for many, many years. Up until now, I always had good experiences with them. It had been several years since I had ordered from them, and this experience was completely different from any I have ever had before. First of all, they no longer carry "name brand" blinds, they have apparently gone to carrying their own brand of blinds, which they market as being superior. I was a little hesitant to try them, but I thought "this is Smith and Noble--they have always been an excellent company to deal with in the past." Big mistake! Two of the four blinds ordered arrived damaged, although the packaging was in perfect condition. No mashed or dented boxes, so it would appear the damage occurred before the blinds were even packed for shipping. When I called and complained, I was initially told they would send replacement parts for ME to try to repair the blinds. I told them no way, I did not pay a small fortune for blinds for ME to have to repair! They finally agreed to send me replacement blinds. After waiting four weeks to receive the first set, I had to wait an additional four weeks to receive the replacements. In addition, the hold down clips I had requested, and the cord safety brackets that are always supposed to be included were missing for all of the blinds. Instead, there were parts that I had no idea what to do with it. I was told by customer service that the blinds were manufactured in Mexico, and that they had recently been made aware that incorrect parts were being shipped with the blinds. The quality of these blinds doesn't even come close to those of the "name brand" blinds I have ordered in the past. So, needless to say after many years of being a satisfied customer, I will no longer order anything from Smith and Noble again. I would strongly recommend others to shop elsewhere. Even though they have a very slick catalog, don't get fooled into ordering from them!
