Office Playground is a site that caters to your inner child, especially if you let that inner child loose when you are at work and on the corporate clock. They carry some of the coolest, funniest and strangest toys around and their prices are unbelievable. I do have to say this, if you have shopped at party stores or bargain outlets and have seen toys like the ones they sell at the site and are thinking, "I can get that wind up toy for a lot less than what they are selling it for ..." let me say this... Office Playground sells high quality goods, pick up something for a dollar at one of 'those' stores and you are going to get something that is going to break or fall apart in a week. So far every single item I have purchased from the site [or have given as a gift] has held up to an incredible amount of use and abuse without any of the items breaking. I'm talking about wind up toys falling off a second story window ledge [our First Annual Wind Up Toy Race], Crab Claw Pens endlessly pinching the back sides of unsuspecting customers and the fortune balls [read about those later] being used as bowling balls. Yes, we are a sick and twisted bunch of people, maybe we can get part time jobs testing out toys they are thinking about selling at the site.
Selection
One of the things that I fell in love with were the 'balls' that they sell at the site. These are like the Magic 8 Balls that were oh so popular years ago and now they have them in a plethora of different styles. No, they don't carry The Simpson's one but they do have them in the following varieties: Affirmation, Fortune, Excuse, Sarcasm, Analyst and Financial ... I think there are a few more that I missed but you get the general idea. They have gifts for professionals like Zen gardens and those metal klanky ball things but they have a lot of silly things like wind up toys, rubber chickens, Silly Putty, stress relieving toys and packaged sets. One of the coolest gift assortments is the Desk Toy Box; it might only be made out of cardboard but it is packed with cool toys that will help you waste company time without ever being bored. One of the nicest things about the site is that there is no minimum amount that you have to order but they do have discounts for large orders as well as imprinting [that does have a minimum amount that needs to be ordered]. All the things that they sell are featured with a color photograph and text description but if you need any help, customer service is there to give you more information or answer questions.
Purchases
The biggest purchase I made was an old fashioned gumball machine; I thought that these would cost a couple hundred dollars but Office Playground had them for about $35.00. It's not huge but it is about fifteen inches high and holds a hell of a lot of gumballs. When Halloween rolls around we fill it with the eyeball gumballs but those are pretty hard to find any other time of the year. One of the guys at the shop loves monkeys and when he saw the Monkey Nodder [yes, a nodding monkey] he flipped out. I had to get it for him for his birthday after I saw the way he reacted to it. For under ten dollars he got yet another monkey for his collection but his girlfriend was less than pleased about it, it seems she hates them. I've also picked up more than a few of the wind up animals and figures that they carry at the site. That all started when I had a Grim Reaper wind up toy and someone thought that I collected those types of toys. One by one I started getting more and more of them from people. Some of the animals they carry include pigs, lions, chickens, sheep, cows, tigers and elephants. They also have dinosaurs and assorted figures like chattering teeth and walking crabs.

Payment Options
You can pay for your order using the usual credit cards like MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover but they will also accept a check or money order. Checks and money orders will slow down the order because they have to clear the bank first. I've used a regular credit card and a debit card and never had any problems with the orders being approved, differences between what I was quoted at the time of the order or double billings. I did have some trouble placing the first order with them because I had the security settings set too high but once I changed it, I had no problems.
Shipping
Orders are shipped out one of three ways; United States Postal Service [USPS], FedEx [Federal Express] or UPS [United Parcel Service]. They will use which ever one is cheapest or will get it there the quickest and the rates that they charge are not inflated. You can pick from standard shipping or expedited 2 Day or Next Day service but you will have to pay the additional charges. Shipping fees are calculated according to the total dollar amount of the order and you will be able to see what that amount if before you confirm the order and start entering in personal information. Most of my orders were in the $25.00 - $35.00 range and cost about $7.00 for ground delivery. At this point in time they do not ship internationally but they do ship to Alaska and Hawaii.
Return Policy
You have three weeks [21 days] to make a return to them if you receive something that you changed your mind about. If you receive something that is defective or was damaged during shipping, call them as soon as possible to arrange to have the item sent back to them. Use the packing slip that comes with the order and provide as much information as possible to make it easier on their end. Adding an email address can also help to speed up things if you aren't around to answer the phone. If you are returning anything expensive, make sure you call them first to see if you should ensure it or have it sent with a delivery confirmation or signature slip. The only things that they will not accept returns on are foods items so make sure that you really want those gumballs before you order them. They do not charge a restocking fee of any kind on items returned to them
The Bottom Line
I guess I shouldn't complain when the people at the shop slack off and start cranking up all the wind up toys. I am guilty of wasting just as much time as they do and having toys from this company lets us do it in first class style. The people answering the phones are very cool to chat with and I have to assume that this is one of the coolest places to work because no matter when you call ... who ever answers the phone is in a great mood. Prices are very reasonable, the products are high quality and shipping is fast. They have toys that start as low as three dollars so no matter what type of budget you are working with, you can order from this site and put those cheap, inferior toys from other websites and stores in the trash. From chattering teeth to hopping sheep, flying nuns to rubber chickens ... if it is meant to help you waste time at work ... you will find it at the Office Playground website!
As always, thanks for the read!
