General Notes
OEM and Educational software is one way to beat the high price of Retail software.
As I like to build my own machines, this is a great way to get legal without overpaying.
Viosoft distributes discounted software as 'OEM Bundled with hardware' (sometimes a simple tiny computer part, like a screw or a jumper plug).
Or the Educational discounted versions (Which generally require you to be a school or a student).
Important Things:
1- THIS IS IMPORTANT! DO NOT THROW AWAY ANYTHING THAT COMES FROM VIOSOFT Sometimes the license key is a simple sticker on the shrink-wrap.
2- OEM and Educational software usually ships without manuals, often just a shrink-wrapped CD. You can generally find all the info you need Online.
3- OEM and Educational software often comes with Limited support. You can expect free web support, so you can download patches, etc. But don't expect any helpful handholding from the company's 800 number.

VIOSoft has a lean-mean and efficient operation. They have a clean and easy to search website, and ship promptly.
I ordered a academic version of win xp pro, it arrived within a week via the mail.
In the package was a copy of the invoice, and a shrink-wrapped packaged containing 2 cd's in little sleeves, and a cardboard backer. In my case the license keys were on stickers on the back of the CD Sleeves. BUT sometimes they are elsewhere, thus the warning to THROW NOTHING AWAY.
The software installed and registered and activated legally.
is this legal?

If you are either a-OEM'ing your own machine, or b-A student or educator (like me).
It is up to you to decide if you fit into those categories and are qualified to purchase from them.
Critical: You have to have sufficient technical skills to install the software without telephone support.
