This is where I will review the website. For my review of the actual flight please click (http://www10.epinions.com/content_259183382148 ).That’s where you will find the story of how I came across Southwest.com. I will try to evaluate the site on a few factors that I think are important qualities in any online store or website, for that matter.
Appearance
The site has a very clean appearance. The background is nice, soft lavender and white. The links are in white and highlight to a yellow shade when the mouse is placed over them. This makes it easy for me to see where the links, as well as where I am going on the site.
The buttons also named very simply: reservation, schedule, special offers. I thought it was very easy to find the way to book the flights without calling or emailing the customer service department and asking for help.
Ease of Navigation
Again, the site was very easy to navigate. I was able to view and schedule my flights with relative ease. I liked that I could download the entire schedule to a pdf format, to make it easier to print out.
The moment everything was booked, I got an email notification. This was very convenient and allowed to send my flight information to my friends who could pick me up at the airport.
Booking my Flight
I felt it was very easy to follow the onscreen links to book my flight. I was not so comfortable with using my credit card online. But I found out that Southwest uses Network Security Services to protect billing information and Secure Sockets Layer to encrypt information and keep the data private and confidential between your machine and Southwest Airlines. This technology makes it safe to transmit credit card number over the Internet.
Another useful feature of this site is that it allows you to book hotels and rent-a-cars while you are booking the flights. This is very convenient and allowed me to expedite my travel plans. There is a useful link for the shuttle services at various airports, as well as their specific contact information.
Changing my Flight
These flights go very fast. I would watch every few hours and noticed that a flight would be gone. The cheap internet fares go like hot cakes. I wanted to change the date and time of a flight. But, I didn’t know how to do this. So, I called customer service. They directed me to the link “travel plans” and from then on, it was smooth sailing. Changing the schedule was very easy.
Overall, Southwest.com was a very easy site to navigate. I did not have any trouble finding the important links that I needed to book my flights online. I think it is any easy and comfortable way to book a flight with a tremendous amount of assurance that there will be a seat for you on the plane.
I trust southwest and southwest.com with my credit card information because they are reliable, affordable and timely. I really could not ask for any better service from an airline and would recommend this site for any person who is looking for a domestic flight.
