Great points in this, Leah. I'm so glad you were able to get the one you really wanted.
I have become an expert on defrosting meat! It's sort of gotten wonderful along the way. Put the -say a package of frozen chicken breasts in, leaving the wrapper on (but remove the bag tie if you have one) and set auto defrost for 1.20 - one minute, 20 seconds. When it dings, wait a minute or two, then turn it over, and do the same thing. Nine times out of 10 this will do it. But if not, then just defrost on the first side for 1 minute more.
I've learned with defrosting that less is always better and since doing the above I've never curled the edges of the meat, not even ground beef.
It works for me every time. Let me know if it works for you! LOL
