Last June I decided to walk in the local Heart Walk. I was walking especially for my friend's daughter who was born with a congenital heart defect. She told me I could make a shirt, through the local CHD Families website, and they'd put it up on Cafepress.com for me to purchase. So I made a shirt saying I was walking in honor of my friend's daughter. They put it up on the website and I ordered two adult shirts and a toddler shirt.
Recently I was looking for a shirt related to being a girlfriend of a guy in the navy for a secret sister gift exchange I am part of. So I went to the site again. The home page has a place to start your own store as well as links to favorite items, but if you put in words in the search box you are likely to find tons of results if you're willing to narrow them down.
In addition to clothing they sell housewares (like mugs, clocks, and teddy bears), hats and bags, stickers and buttons, and posters and prints.
I found a shirt I liked and added a size large to my shopping cart. Then I noticed they were having a sale where if you spent $50 you'd get free shipping. So I found a shirt for my sister, using the word "Episcopalian", and some boxers for my husband using the words "urban exploring".
I added all the items to my shopping cart. It automatically zeroed out my shipping after I had $50 in the cart. I had made an account earlier this year and it let me log back in with my email account and password. It then verified my billing and shipping addresses, gave me the opportunity to enter a coupon, asked if the item was a gift to put a message on the order, and gave the shipping options.
Shipping, like I said was free if you spent $50 or more, but under 50 was Flat Rate Shipping (8-9 bus days) $5, Standard Shipping (4-8 bus days) $5.95, 2 Day shipping (4 bus days) $13, and Next Day (3 bus days) $20. All shipping methods included 2-3 days of processing.
I put in my credit card on the https (secure) webpage hit next and it let me review my order one more time before I placed it. This page also lets you know they have a 30 day money back guarantee.
I placed my order on November 28th. I got a thank you/confirmation email within a few minutes of placing the order. Two days later I got an email with a tracking link saying my order had been shipped via FedEx. There was a bad ice storm and tracking my package I could see that there was a delay due to "adverse weather conditions". My items arrived on December 4th. So my packaged arrived 6 days after I placed my order and that included a weekend, so I can't complain about the speed of delivery at all.
The clothing was sent in a plastic bag with Cafepress.com written on the outside. No padding is really needed for shirts and boxers and none was included. My receipt was inside the package as well as a little flyer for the website. All items appeared to be in good condition and printed just fine.
All in all I have few complaints. I think the prices are a little steep, but they are partially set by the sellers, with they're making some money and cafepress.com making some money. And when you put in a search word you sometimes have to go through a LOT of results. But ordering was easy, delivery was fast, and I was happy with the products I ordered.
