Pros: They send you the bill EVERY month.
Cons: They send you the bill EVERY month. Even when you cancel. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.
The Bottom Line: Never ever get Cingular. You will eventually deal with their customer service for something they do wrong. And then you'll understand why. Cingularly the worst.

| krishach's Full Review: General Reviews of Cingular Wireless Customer Serv... |
I am writing in complaint of treatment of the lowest kind I have received in my history as a paying customer. Having originally purchased a cellular phone through AT&T Wireless in 2004 and a single plan, I must say I was singularly happy with their service. Shortly after the mailings in which Cingular merged with AT&T Wireless, my phone LCD shattered, well inside the warranty service I was assured of when I originally purchased the phone. Cingular regretted to inform me that in this singular instant, this singular phone is not covered under any warranty, and that they would unfortunately be unable to provide me further assistance, and terminated the call. Persual of teleservices management lead to a singularly disappointing answer. Having been robbed of my original warranty with absolutely no written notification of any changes, I determined to finish my contract without further use of this horrible service.
Upon completion of the contract ending September 23, I called customer service to cancel my contract. I was assured that it would indeed be canceled with no further bill. The following month I received another bill for active service. Having taken the word of customer service before, I called back upset about the bill I had received in spite of the cancellation. I had to escalate the call before a refund was promised, a call that was timed via telephone clock at 32 minutes and 47 seconds. The following month, now in November, I received a bill that my credit card (having been since canceled) was unable to be billed for BOTH October and November. No refund had been issued, and no cancellation had occurred. How singularly unsurprising. Calling again, I spoke with customer service who referenced the previous conversations and informed me the original representative had set the cancellation date for late December, likely to serve his own internal stats, he theorized. I was refunded the amounts and promised the contract would be canceled.
The following month, I was singularly surprised to find yet another contract service bill for the billing period month following my second call for cancellation. Calling yet again, in what is no longer a singular incident, I had to escalate to a supervisor, one Raul Ortiz, who provided me with his extension for identification. He did neglect (anything else smack of neglect to you?) to provide me with the telephone number to actually utilize such an extension. He promised cancellation of service and a refund of yet another bill. When told he would be recorded, AS IS MY RIGHT in a single-party consent state (and they record calls themselves) I was rudely informed I did NOT give my consent to be recorded. When I asked to speak with his superior, he hung up. This conversation lasted a total of 16 minutes and 53 seconds.
Having called yet again to customer service, I spoke with supervisor Matthew Delaney of Alberta Canada, who informed me that the contract had been canceled and the account rendered to a zero balance. When I expressed frustration of the waste of time and what I can only see as an attempt at fraud on the part of the original agent, I was told in no uncertain terms that No one will assist me, as those statements had already been billed. He refused to give his extension, and refused to connect me to his superior. He interrupted me while I was explaining what I had meant three times. This conversation lasted 12 minutes and 3 seconds.
Singularly painful, singularly insulting, singularly despicable, singularly the worst wireless service it has ever been my displeasure to pay for. You never deserved AT&T. Cingularly the worst.
