Around the World in Eighty Days is an outstanding literary work written by the very famous author, Jules Verne. I enjoyed reading this book and I recommend it to every one of all ages. This is a story of a man, Phileas Fogg, who embarks on a journey around the world with his recently hired valet, Passenportout. Mr.Fogg had made a bet of twenty thousand pounds that he could travel around the world in 80 days. That is just what he is going to do.
Mr. Phileas Fogg goes on his journey making numerous stops in different countries. Unfortunately, some of these stops were not intended and it delayed their well-planned schedule. When passing through India, Passenportout had saved a woman from a sacrifice and she kept on the journey with the two men. Throughout their journey, a man named Fix had been following them. Fix had thought that Mr.Fogg had been the bank robber that had robbed the Bank of London.
It is concluded that Mr.Fogg is a very adventurous and determined man. He overcame many obstacles and oversaw many difficulties. For example, when The Sioux had captured Passenporout and time was against them, Mr.Fogg had found a way to save him. He worked many wonders in this story and he was very dedicated to himself and his followers. He completed every task that was placed upon him and he showed to be a very caring and spontaneous man. In return, he got a beautiful wife.
I really liked this book because of the adventures that were explained. Jules Verne did an excellent job by describing the many journeys that Mr.Fogg and his followers encountered. I recommend this book to anyone looking for an adventure and a very nice ending to a story. The adventure goes on and on with meticulous details and finishes with a very satisfying ending that would be pleasing to any reader. Around the World in Eighty Days is a tremendous novel.
