| tiggerrrrr's Full Review: Sprint Mobile Phone Service in Kansas City |
I have had the worst customer service experiences with the Sprint PCS customer service line. Every time I call in I have to wait on hold a minimum of 15-20 minutes. The longest I've sat on hold has been 2 times at over an hour each. I wanted to see just how long it would actually take them to answer the phone (luckily you can call from a land line and put your phone on speaker phone while you wait for them to answer). After waiting 1hr and 30 min, someone answered the phone and hung up on me. I called back later on that night (the least busy time to call seems to be 2-3AM - not really convenient for me) and the person I spoke with told me that the time I had called at was their busiest time. Regardless of that, no one should have to wait on hold for over 20 minutes EVERY time they call.
The coverage is terrible. I have had so many dropped calls. I had the phone for 5 months before someone in customer service told me that I could get credit for my dropped calls. In order to do that you have to wait on hold again - just to reach a recording (seems a little odd to me). I would not recommend this cell phone company to anyone. Their rates are average and their customer service is TERRIBLE. I told them that I was not happy with the service that I received and I wanted to cancel my contract without the $150 termination fee. The second manager that I spoke with told me that they do not promise to provide good customer service, only communication services and since I had still been able to use my phone they were doing their job. She didn't care that I had numerous dropped and missed calls that month and that I had sat on hold for over 15 hours that month alone (I started recording it after the numerous long hold times).
Every time I speak with someone in customer service, they are clueless. On one occasion, I called in because I was having a problem with dropped and missed calls (this has been a constant problem since I got the phone). The girl asked me to give her my cell phone number. Apparently that didn't pull anything up because she had to ask me for my address. She then needed a specific address where my phone did not work - All Over!!! So I gave her an address, she listed off a bunch of cities and asked me if any of these were near me. I said that I had not heard of them near me and most of them sounded like they were in Arizona. She seemed surprised that none of these were near my area, even though I had told her that I live in Kansas!! So I told her my address one more time and she told me that the reason I was having a problem with dropped calls is because the coverage does not reach the desert. I started laughing at her and told her that there is no desert in Kansas. Needless to say she was not competent to help me with any problem. This seems to be the intelligence level of 98% of the people I speak with there, I give the 2% credit to a nice lady that was very helpful ONE time I called.
I will be canceling my contract as soon as my year is up and even earlier if I can get out of the $150 termination fee.
