What Is A Father?

The Bottom Line You Are Still my Hero Dad....
My father has been dead for over 11 years now. he was in the skill department of a hospital for over 4 years. He had a muscle and nerve disorder which is fatal. I stayed with him a lot, weeks at a time and seen him suffer great pain.
My mind goes back often to the days before my dad got sick. I can remember the love and kindness he always had for his children. He was my Hero. I thought there was nothing my dad couldn't do, In my eyes he was always strong, working for his family, even when his job took him far away from his family.
He loved to grow things. I still remember him planting vegetables and me running bare foot behind him, I was such a daddy's girl.
I married and moved away. I had a family of my own, but made the long trips to be with my dad and mom. He was the type of man that stayed busy, and when I came to visit and found my dad sitting in the house, not working in his garden and the other things he loved to do I knew something was wrong.
We took him to the hospital and received the awful truth,
that he was going to die. It was so hard to see my dad, the strongest man i knew grow weak and waste away. I could never thank him enough for all he did for me, and even now that he is gone, he still lives in my heart and will always be my hero.
