The Continuation of My Review of Sprint Service in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area
Apr 30 '03 (Updated Sep 21 '03)
The Bottom Line Sprint will help you if you find all of their little loopholes, and if you're gonna be in it for the long run. Otherwise, don't even enter.

Yes, I have run out of room. Here is the continuation of it. Wow, I didn't realize that you could actually run out of room!
I took my poor LG LX5350 and just snapped it in half. Right at the hinge. I was extremely stressed. Luckily Camilla loved me enough to come out and comfort me right then. I love her SO much. I don't know where I would be without her. She is my whole world, and my everything!
Well, after this little episode, I came to the immediate conclusion that the LG LX5350 would not be able to function properly to let me use it as a phone. Or anything for that matter.
Well, I then decided to get another phone to replace this phone. After all, this was the main phone. Camilla's phone was only the subphone on the account. However, I only had around $100 to spend. Camilla liked her phone, and I thought that it was indeed cute, so I decided to get it for myself.
Everything went fine with getting it and activating it. The only odd thing that happened which I thought that I would mention is that at first when I asked for the phone (we were in school, but it was lunch, and I explained that I didn't have time to wait, I would activate it myself), the lady said that Sprint had told them that they couldn't do this. Hmmmm, well the second person that I asked just let me buy the phone and walk out without a hassle.
I immediately activated it, and was done. The only annoying thing about the activation process was that I told the person that I had gone through the whole activating and replacing phones a bunch of times, and didn't need help, but he still basically "spoon-fed" me the steps. Oh well.
The phone functioned fine for about the first few weeks (maybe two?). Then my fiance went on her orchestra trip for school. She went down to Florida, and took her phone so that we could keep in touch.
(Oh, I had been kicked out of the house by now because I was now 18. I was staying with a friend, in his parents' guestroom). Well, the phone had been fine up until now, but for some reason, the reception was acting all funny. Well, I thought that this was just because the service in Florida was bad, but I tried calling my friend's cell phone, with the cell phones in my hands, right next to each other.
The reception bars on the Samsung kept jumping from none to all (which was four). This was extremely annoying due to the fact that I was getting maybe about 30 seconds of talking in, before my call was dropped.
I finally decided that this was the phone. I called Sprint, and they said to return it to Circuit City. I have yet to do this. I just have been too busy.
Well, I had noticed that Nokia had just released a phone for Sprint (their first?), and I had always been interested in getting a Nokia, but I refused to switch to anybody else except Sprint.
Well, I decided to try this phone. I went to RadioShack (yes, at lunch again) and bought the phone for about $100. It turns out that it was Sprint, not the phone, but the Nokia phone had such a stronger antennae (Nokia's are usually known for having stronger signals than most phones) that I always stayed on my phone calls.
Anyways, my girlfriend got caught with her phone (her dad took it away), and so I switched the service back to my "new" Samsung N240, and gave it to her.
The reception has been fluctuating, but it works pretty well, and I think that I will keep both phones, so that we always have a back up phone (I need to get the other one back from her dad).
Just recently, I looked at my bill from Sprint, and I realized that you don't just pay for the service plan that you chose. You must pay the taxes that Texas implements for cellular phone service. It's around $18, so in essence, you're actually paying almost $20 more than your service plan. Yikes!!! I pay about $80 for my service instead of the agreed upon $60. Geez.
UPDATE
I had changed to the $100 plan because it gave me 2000 anytime minutes with unlimited night and weekend minutes. It also let me attach the second phone line for free. On top of all this, the Vision was free. However, this was too expensive. I was charged $150 because of taxes and everything. Well, I now have a $300 bill, and am getting ready to look at another bill of $150 for a month that I never even used the phone.
After an interesting encounter with my girlfriend's parents, we decided that Camilla did not belong in that house. I go to college at a community college. Right across from the campus is an apartment complex. This is the college housing for the college. Well, my dad is paying for me to live there. I could have another person living with me, so Camilla moved in with me. We eventually got married and are living happily together in the College Housing.
Since we are married and living together, we both decided that it was stupid to have a plan with so many minutes. Well, we couldn't use the Sprint phones, since I am $100 over my allowed spending limit. We also are unable to stop the service until I pay off the $300 bill. As a result, the bill will keep piling up, even though I am not using the service.
Well, I needed to have an active cell phone. Because of this, I looked into different phone services, again. I found that AT&T was the best bet for me. Instead of combining our phones, I got two separate lines for Camilla and I. We both got Nokia cell phones. I got the Nokia 6200, and Camilla got the Nokia 6800. Okay, I have now switched to AT&T. I will try to keep up with my review of the AT&T service.
END OF UPDATE
One word of note: some of my other friends, with other cell phone service providers have also been having trouble, so I don't think that it is just Sprint. We have all experienced that sometimes, we will have to dial a number three or four times before it will dial the number and connect.
I was browsing on the Sprint.com site (not SprintPCS) and guess what I found? SONY Ericsson is making a phone for Sprint. It is the first Bluetooth phone for Sprint, and it is the first CDMA phone with Bluetooth for North America. Awesome! I'm really considering getting this, because I love my friend's SONY Ericsson T68i.
I hope that this review has helped you, and that you will choose wisely with your phone services.
