I bought the SL45 last week and as a phone and MP3 player it is very impressive.
However - don't expect to be able to load your fave tracks onto the MultiMedia Card and go - the file transfer rate from PC to Phone is terribly slow. 20Mb of music (which is about the max you can REALLY load onto the 32mb card with all the other necessary components loaded) takes over an hour to transfer. So plan to load tonight what you want to listen to tomorrow!
You can purchase the card reader (extra cost) which sidesteps the phone's serial communications port (see www.my-siemens.com FAQ - Why does it take so long to record onto a MultiMediaCard™?)
I have had a few problems aswell with 'Memory Card Error!' messages popping up - I have reformatted the card - but it is still having problems with the Address Book.
You should definitely plan to download the MMC backup file available from siemens (3.2Mb) in case of issues.
All this being said - is so cool to walk along with music blaring in your ears knowing that you won't miss a phone call!!
