Pros: Action, CGI is unreal since LOTR
Cons: Who's fighting who? Why? What did it cost me?
The Bottom Line: It's a three-quel which is hard to pull off, don't buy the DVD.

| grantwatson06's Full Review: Spider-Man 3 |
Action, action, action. But hey, maybe some of the sub plots would have been better served in Spiderman 4. And what happened to the rippage from Spidey 1. We're looking more like Seabiscuit than Peter Parker. Overall, worth the dollar movies or drive in double feature, if such things still exist.
Acting is great as usual, James Franco does a plausible job of switching sides midway through. Toby McGuire does an exceptional job pulling off good guy, going, going, gone bad, but no, wait... But as before, let's hit the gym before playing superhero. Doogie, if I may call him Doogie, good bad guy, gives off that fart-knocker vibe you'd expect early on. With killer CGI and outstanding "real maniacal zeal", it works.
Ladies? Ron Howard, nice work. Mary Jane Watson, same as with Peter, gym. You really can't compete, even as a home town heart throb, without some tone. That's the stuff home town heart throbs are made of. That and a general like of the underdog, disdain for monied playboys and that RARE ability to live on a common man's paycheck after the movie ends. However, the pouting was old after an hour of straight pout.
CGI: Wow. You always know things will get better with time and technology, but this movie is yet another that leaves you wondering how. Great job!!
Unfortunately, confusing and long. I give it 2 out of 5.
