I am about 13 and I just may be able to help you
i know that alot of people think about starting a band and some people dont really know how because that was what happend to me i went on to the web to look up how to start a band and i had know help at all from anyone or anything i should say but then i came across this page and i thought i would give you some good ideas too about starting a band and not giveing up before you even get to the basic steeps.
step one"kind of music"
most of the time you know wright off the bat what kind of band you will be and kind of music you will play. but if you dont then here is a way to find out. well an easy way is is base it on the type of music you like the most.so if you like pop, hard rock,or rock -say you like blink 182,slip knot,brittny spears,or anyone that you think is cool i just put a few up their. then try to write songs in that form if that helps at all."go down to steep three to learn to wright songs"
step two"band members"
some times it will be hard to find the right people say you have a friend who wants to be in your band but then again they cant sing cant play gutair and cant play drums or anything else you would need. but she/he was like your best friend so you say ok you can be in the band.that is all wrong you can still be friends but just not in the band. what im trying to say is that you need to find some people who can play the insturment really well if you want to go far. i know what you are thinking well how do i find the right people? maybe you could like get the word out around school and ask some people who may play gutair in band or the drums and they are really well at that stuff but then you have to find a lead singer but that might just might be a tiny problem if you dont know what kind of music your band plays which that leads back to steep one

please do not use this song in any way because i thought this up in my own mind in time but you may use the set up it is how i felt at one point but it is an easy way to write songs for this song only to about an hour even though it is not perfect thinking up the simple out line is just a little bit of your time
