Best $30 I've ever spent

Occasionally, I will make a purchase I feel is worthy of the words, "The best $___ I've ever spent." Although that phrase seems a bit exaggerated, I only use it when I find something I believe to be a truly remarkable value - and my family LOVES the G.E. Chrome Electric Kettle.
Granted, it doesn't hold much water, (Only 1.7 liters), so you won't be serving multiple cups of tea to your over-tired bridge club without an occasional refill. But as far as I can tell, that's the ONLY downfall of this kettle.
My favorite feature is the automatic shut-off. Once the water comes to a boil, which only takes about 3 minutes for a full pot, the unit shuts off so you don't have to worry about overheating it and scorching the bottom of your kettle. (Which I've done it more times than I care to admit.) It's easy to clean just by surface wiping and an occasional swish with soapy water and the attractive design means no need to add it to the proverbial "appliance graveyard" and only bring it out when it's needed. It has a nice, short chord that doesn't need to be tucked, rolled or hidden. I think it's a darn good looking unit!
Before purchasing this kettle, I always had the porcelain type that was always so easily chipped and damaged. So when considering a new kettle, I was really eyeing the stainless steel variety. I was just about to put a standard stove-top stainless kettle in my cart when I noticed the G.E. Electric one right next to it was only $4 dollars more than the non-electric one. I felt it was a great value and am so glad that I made that decision.
After using it in our home for well over 4 months now, and boiling water several times a day, I feel this product is more than worthy of my above quoted phrase.
Make some room on your counter for this kettle. You'll be glad you did.
