Pros: Large buttons, good layout, excellent sound and speakers. Get to throw away my Motorola. Sturdy
Cons: Limited ring-tone selections, no name auto text when adding contacts. Verizon extras are too expensive
The Bottom Line: Buy this phone if you want a solid well built, simple to use, not too gadgetry, great sounding phone!

| albertmark's Full Review: LG VX8300 V Cast Music Phone |
I have had a lot of phones (Nokia, Motorola,Kyocera) and I was always skeptical about LG. The last few phones I got I was suckered into by the great deals offered by either Alltel, Verizon or ATT etc. This time I went in looking for the best battery life, signal strength and reception and most importantly how comfortable it felt. Plus I call overseas every day via a calling card so I needed to be able to set up a 32 digit number with hard pauses (calling call number+pin number+contact number)
The last Motorola I had let me enter 32 digits but then limited it to 25 digits when you dialed. Motorola is a piece of crap!!
This phone is so much better then any Motorala I ever owned and I couldn't wait to say "goodbye Moto"
The buttons and layout are just what I wanted. large buttons, well placed, easy to see and use since I have big fingers.
I think there could be improvements such as making shortcuts easier to set up. Setting the display themes takes a long time and is not very friendly. For example I wanted just a plain background for the front but you have to choose one of their themes which is not plain or you can choose a picture of your own. So I took a picture of a white wall and then chose that pix.
Also when you enter a contact name it doesn't let you copy the number or the text of a name to reuse. Example I have 23 people with Smith as the last name. It would be nice to enter "Sm" and have auto recognize finish the rest.
All and All I am very happy with this phone after one week. I also wanted a phone with Bluetooth so I could use a headset in states where cells are prohibited. It was so easy to set up it was funny.
The case I got from Verizon is real nice as well as I am pretty brutal on phones.
