I'll Get Off The Bench For This Wench! Roasting Doc W/O Come One Come All
Aug 24 '04
The Bottom Line It's all in the essay
Hear ye, Hear ye, Tis time to gather around the old round table in honor of a faire damsel who has brought humor and fun to all of us who read her words or have had the distinct honor of spending some time with "o kilted one" over a shank of Oxen or a Blue Margarita..
We who gather here today are present for many varied reasons. I, for one, have always been fascinated by the Arthurian legends so, on my travels through England, made it my quest to visit the lands of this immortal legend..The medieval times have also been a time of great interest and passion for me and Ive had the pleasure of seeing many of the remains of those times.. When Ive written about these experiences or sites I could always count on a sassy comment from Miss Medieval herself, one that always brought a smile to my face.
I participated in her great Medieval W/O which was one of my favorites, wait one minute, she and I participated in another one together, a movie write-off where each of us wrote about the same movie, so that would be another great W/O moment for me. We both had fairly different view points on Rosemarys Baby yet still agreed in the end that it was movie worthy of watching.
The silver chalice of all was the night we met for dinner, both of us hobbled over to one another with wide grins and knew immediately we were going to have a fine night of feasting ahead of us
No, we didnt have a roasted pig or oxen but the conversation served was of far more importance..I can hardly remember now just what it was I did dine on but do remember my frozen Blue Margarita melting all over the place and us laughing about that and so much more.
On a more serious note, Doc has been through a lot during the years and has always shown a bravery in her reviews when writing about them that I respect more than I can say...She has such a positive attitude about whatever has befallen her that I always think of her if I start feeling sorry for myself for whatever reason. But enough of that
Now that Doc has moved down to my neck of the woods I hope to be able to have many more "meet and greets" once she settles down, does a wench ever really settle down???? Funny thing, when we speak on the phone I still dont know what to call her. Lori? Doc? Maybe just Doc Lori? All I know is, she is a unique and very fair damsel, one I can proudly call my frçond, the Old English word for friend, for what could be more fitting then that
But, be careful all you Brave hearts, never wear a kilt in her presence
Thanks Savanah for putting this write-off together and congratulations on your epinions anniversary! And if you get a chance check out Doc Loris reviews there will always be something interesting in them for you to savoir even it not on an open pit in King Arthurs castle!
