Horrible customer service

I ordered two shades from Lamps Plus. They did not fit the lamps. I called to return them; got authorization number; FedEx-ed shades. Waited one week. Called to find out where refund was. Was told shades had not arrived. Got e-mail saying shades had not arrived; e-mail was dated TWO DAYS AFTER FedEx confirmed delivery of shades. Called customer service. Was told shades had not arrive. Asked for supervisor. Was told, "Oh, yes, they are here but we get hundreds of packages a day." Asked when I would get refund. Was told, "Already done." When? "While we are talking," said the supervisor. Asked what would have happened if I had not called? "It might take three billing cycles." Nice way to work of the float of the customers' money, I say. The fact that I ordered replacement shades which arrived relatively quickly and are perfect on the lamps does not make up for the fact that this company has dreadful customer service and shoddy refund policies.
