SQUARE TRADE: GOOD ON THE SURFACE, POOR TO TERRIBLE WHEN NEEDED.
Very easy to use website when purchasing but when I needed to use the "filing a claim" section there's many "unexpected error" messages on the screen. This site is useful if the only thing you want to do is extend the time but provide less coverage than the warranty the manufacturer provides - their coverage is substantially less than what you would expect to be covered. They are the ONLY extended warranty I have ever heard of that doesn't cover accidental damage and they won't tell you that up front. On one of my purchases from them (I've had more than 1 bad experience with them), for cell phone coverage, the manufacturer states their product is rated to take a drop from 6 foot or less onto a hard surface 100 times - this is considered normal usage as someone will eventually drop a cell phone from this height. When I filed me claim they asked if the device had been dropped or exposed to liquid, I honestly answered yes believing I could later explain the details including that this drop was within designed constraints but no, this answer immediately voids your warranty and they are unwilling to hear any more.
I STRONGLY SUGGEST NOT DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
The only reason I can give them 1 point / star is that once you realize your coverage won't be provided they let you refund the warranty cost based on the percentage time left. Their business model is hoping you won't need their coverage and they get to keep the money, if you do need the coverage they will deny your claim and refund some of the money.
I used them because they had on their front page a claim that they consistently are rated 5 stars on "epinions.com" and other ratings sites but if you really look here you will find otherwise... if you can even find them; they don't come up when searching "squaretrade.com" and are still hard to find when searching just "squaretrade".
If I were management at Epinions, I would be very concerned with the Epinion name being used on this less than honorable web site.
