The Bottom Line After having tried many internet flower vendors, proflowers.com is now my favorite.

A rose is a rose but twelve of them at $29.95 beats twelve of them at $63.99 any day.
I like to send flowers to my wife. She enjoys them and they often help to smooth things over when I do something stupid. For example, that time I tried to use the hedge trimmers on the dog….He’s fine now. After 24 years of marriage, you can be sure that I’ve done my share of stupid things and so I've purchased a good deal of flowers.
Price
I’ve used several internet flower vendors with mixed results. Usually, I use whoever will rebate $2.00 back to me – not the brightest way to select a vendor.
I got an email from proflowers.com and though there was no rebate, I was very pleased with their pricing. What sets proflowers.com apart from the rest is price. Really, $29.95 for a dozen roses and they arrived on time, fresh and beautiful. Compare that to $59.99 for a dozen roses at 1-800flowers.com and $63.99 at justflowers.com.
In addition, they have a broad selection of products at similar prices – not just a handful of sorry-looking arrangements at low prices. Bouquets start at $24.95 plus shipping.
The shopping experience
Nothing exceptional here. You can sort the products by occasion (I didn’t see stupid husband day) or by flower type. However, unlike some sites, you cannot sort by price. I think this is a shortcoming.
Quality
I’ve used proflowers.com three times and have purchased three separate types of flowers. All arrived looking fresh, colorful and unbroken.
Shipping
Standard overnight shipping costs $7.95. This seems to be a standard price for flower shipping. This standard shipping promises delivery by 4:30 pm on the selected overnight day. For $9.95, they promise to deliver by 12:00 noon. There is an extra $5.00 fee for Saturday delivery.
Tracking
Proflowers.com was very communicative. They emailed me three times – first, when they got the order, second, when it was picked up by FedEx at the grower; this second email provided the FedEx tracking number and a link to the FedEx site so I could easily track the order; finally a third email came informing me that the delivery occurred and at what time.
Other info
A vase is optional and it costs $9.95. But guys, lots of our recipients have their favorite flower holders so it may not be necessary to buy the vase. They ship their flowers in a nice gift box. To be fair, I must mention that 800flowers.com includes the vase in the price of most arrangements. However, I still think that overall proflowers.com beats them on price.
1-888-freshest is the phone number.
They take all major credit cards.
They have a reminder service so you can inform them of upcoming events or expected times when you’re going to make your wife mad at you.
Customer Service
I haven’t had a problem so I’m afraid that I cannot comment on their customer service.
Thanks for reading!
And to all my reader who emailed to ask where I’ve been since August – “Thank you Jennifer!”
