| aznshark's Full Review: SilentEar Ear Plugs (NRR 33) |
so i bought this item thinking i would be able to get a better night's rest with the so called "best" and "highest rated earplug made anywhere in the world" i believe this is sold exclusively at the earplugstore.
first off, its $18 for the trial pack. it is urged by them to get the trial pack that has all 3 sizes to ensure the proper fit. they also say many use a diff size for each ear. so of course i bought the whole trial pack. all of which is just a scam. i dont know who on earth would use the large size. they are huge. they should have some size range so we can have an idea of which size to get.
i had been using over the counter disposable earplugs prior. but i wanted something reusable and also with a higher noise reduction rating. the ones i was using before were only rated 28 NRR compared to the 32 NRR of the SilentEar. but my existing over the counter ones were better at noise reduction than the $18 investment i put into SilentEar.
comfort level is terrible. i used the small size and even those hurt my ears. the material is not as soft as they advertise.
so in summary, they hurt like hell, aren't that effective in reducing noise, and cost a pretty penny. i will be going back to my over the counter ones that are cheaper, fit better, and work better
