Pros: Quick by phone fax & e-mail few hassels. The main # gets a live person
Cons: Discussions should be recorded or summarized in e-mail so the customers concerns are documented
The Bottom Line: I would recommend Quicken to others as long as they are aware of your affiliations.. All in all it was a quick and easy process.

I overall was pleased with how the process worked...no driving here and there etc...however.... If I didn't know better I'd think that my loan officer was a used car salesman who drinks way to many red bulls! Very quick talking and not attentive to what we talked about or seemed so... as he did change 2 or 3 things AFTER we had talked about my needs. I was told that my rate would be 5.5...and after I confirmed that this was NOT with buying down to 5.5, that it was actually 5.5....When it came down to signing the final pages...low and behold...I had, added to the total..monies to BUY DOWN to 5.5..when asked about this the guy said, in a fast talking BSing' way that "Oh, yea, that is what we discussed, there's no way we could offer 5.5% without the buydown." "And because the rate was "Locked in" when he told me 5.5% and then had gone up to 6.25 or something...: Bla Bla Bla!! I went ahead and agreed. Then...He said they would have my old Loan Co., which happened to be Countrywide, who earlier in my search had told me they could not help me in the refi...,pay my Fall taxes...Then at signing I noted that they in fact did not have Countrywide pay the taxes but had rolled the payment of the Fall taxes in to my loan! And...I specifically asked about the loan being sold off to another loan company after closing and was assured that this rarely happened. I specifically asked that IF it did happen that I not be sold back to Countrywide as I felt that there refusal to help an existing customer and their current "reputation" in the sub prime loan market made them a company that I no longer wanted to be associated with...and low and behold before I even got my 1st payment..They freakin sold me..to no other than Countrywide..and come to find out..they are actually a subsidary of Quicken!! or something to that nature! I am happy that my loan has closed and I'm not unhappy with the 30y fixed 5.5% loan that I am left with, however...I believe that truth in lending is Truth in lending and someone might want to train Mr. Zelma on chilling out on the fast talk and at least give the appearance of concern for the people he deals with..as he didn't seem to really listen...and went ahead with what seemed his own agenda from the get go...In the end I did tell him this and he didn't seem the least bit affected by it. Didn't really offer an appology or any "thanks I really try hard but maybe I get to many irons in the fire and maybe don't stop and think before barrelling through, but thank you for bringing this to my attention and in the future I will try to listen to the customer and take notes so that I do not make anyone else feel this way" or something to that effect... Would I reccommend them to my friends or family...I did reccommend them to a coworker..who tells me they (she and her husband) had decided to wait. I hope it wasn't something he said? And the last thing is that they are a little slow about responding to messages left on their phones..but I was persistant and just called the main number and whomever answered would help me.
