The One You've All Been Waiting for – The Advice W/O

The Bottom Line You know you're just dying to offer up some unsolicited advice. Here is the W/O you've been waiting for!
Epinions’ members are a great source of information on every topic under the sun. So let’s share it in the form of a Write-Off. Instead of reviewing products this is going to be an “Advice” Write-Off.
The What
In case you haven’t stumbled upon them yet, Advice categories can be found by scrolling all the way down to the bottom of the page of each main category and many subcategories. There are areas for buying guides and background information on various products as well as just general interest topics. General Advice pieces about Epinions are fair game too.
Unfortunately some of the Advice topics are closed, but don’t let that stop you. There is a work around so long as someone before you has written an essay on that topic. Just open an Advice piece on a closed topic and you should get a link to write an essay on that topic. There are a lot of open topics so hopefully you won’t run into that problem. If all else fails the Writer’s Corner is a great place for anything you want to write about.
It’s that time of year, give us some tax savings advice. Tell us how to plan a wedding or a vacation on a budget. Do you know so much about skin care products that it is oozing out of your pores? Do you know the secret to flaky pie crust or fried chicken that is better than The Colonel’s? Did you just buy the perfect camera after months of exhaustive research, tell us what you learned. Do you hold the key to me finally having a green lawn?Don’t keep all of this great knowledge to yourself! Everyone is an expert on something so tell us what you know.
The Why
It seems to me that the Advice sections are an often overlooked area of Epinions. They certainly aren’t placed for maximum exposure. Yet if you take a look at the Most Popular Reviews by category Advice pieces are often found in the Top 20. They earn those high placements from outside hits so Advice pieces are a great way for people to stumble upon Epinions. And there is nothing wrong with link pimping so if you have some relevant product reviews you want to add into your Advice piece go for it.
The Rules
I’ll make this easy. Let’s try to write Helpful and Very Helpful Advice essays and you get two months, until May 10th (my birthday) to get them in. Write anything you like, so long as you are offering up advice in some fashion. Then send me a link or post it in the comment section and I’ll add a link right here for all to see. A link in your essay back here would be appreciated, but isn't necessary.
