Motorola i50sx is along the line of the iDEN phones. Motorola is trying to appeal to a larger consumer market, so it has lowered the price of it's newest phone. This phone has an interchangeable faceplate, and it makes the model more stylish.
i50sx looks like the standard phone on the outside. Inside it has JAVA 2, Micro Edition (J2ME). It also contains many business features such as wireless Web access.
The phone weighs about five ounces. It measures 5.2x2.0x1.2 inches. It seems alittle bit bulky. However, it looks pretty with the removable faceplates. The faceplate pops off very easily. There is a blue and silver cover. The cover can be purchased in bronze as well. It costs $19.95. Motorola plans to offer more colors in the future.
One negative aspect of this phone is that the backlit buttons are not made of rubber. They are constructed of hard plastic. Plastic is more slippery than rubber when pressing them. I like the convenient navigation button. It is located in the middle of the phone. It can be used to scroll through menus and text.
Most Nextel phones have three way calling. i50sx also has this feature. It also has a Direct Connect two way radio feature. The radio feature enables the phone to operate as a walkie talkie. This way the phone can be used to communicate with other users of Nextel phones, via radio communication.
The predecessor of this phone was the i85s.It costs $50 more. The i50sx hs a speaker phone, voice note capabilities, and interchangeable faceplates. The i85s has better buttons.
Motorola i50sx is a stylish upgrade to the i85s. The newer model costs $50 less and has a few new features. Except for the way the buttons feel, I think the i50sx is a better deal.
