Cuddleworks is an adorable site to shop on if you are looking for a stuffed-animal gift for a child, teen or adult. I have to say that the first time I shopped there, it was for ME. It wasn't for my kids or anyone else, but myself. But I will use it in the future for my nieces, nephew, my children and myself!
First off, I was a little leary to use a site that was not so well known. But my worries lessened when I received my wonderful gift to myself in the mail. I found this site because I noticed some of their stuffed animals were available on Amazon. Rather than buy through Amazon, I googled their website and found it and decided to browse. It is an easy site to browse through. You have different tabs for the different types of animals such as Teddy Bears, Big Teddy Bears (and when they mean big, they mean HUGE), sea animals, jungle animals and so on.
I was interested because I had visited a game farm over the summer and fell in love with the bears there. I had never been interested in stuffed animals or even teddy bears in my entire life, but after I saw the real-life brown and black bears, they peaked my interest. I wanted a big bear to cuddle up to. I saw some in the gift shop and passed up on them. But I could not get wanting a bear out of my mind. Cuddleworks.com was a great option because they do not just have the little bears I am used to seeing at 12" or so, they have 18" and 24" on up! The bear I chose is a medium-sized "Mama Browser" at 27", perfect for cuddling up to! It's big! I love it and it cost $43.99, which seems just about right for a bear of that size. Shipping was reasonable as well at just 6$ to my state. You can pay via Paypal now as well as credit or debit card. They also have a 100% satisfaction guarantee for returns if you need. They do not charge sales tax. One thing I've noticed is that they have been updating their site. It's looking more and more professional as time goes by. They have been adding more and more products, I also notice. There's a little bit of something for everyone at every price range. They have added a somewhat new feature of being able to give stars and review the stuffed animals on their site. You can also add animals to your wishlist (but of course you have to sign up with your e-mail and a password, first). I highly suggest it for a gift to a loved one or for a girlfriend or wife for Valentine's Day.
My bear came as advertised, but even better. I noticed it had leather claws that look realistic (long and sharp-looking). The bear was darker than it shows in the picture, but I love it. A black bear to cuddle and also looks good in my nature decor. You can also buy the matching "family" members, a smaller version of the bear and a large "daddy" version and some of the bears come in "giant" size. We're talking life-size and over $200. I think their bears are exceptional in quality, I don't know if I've seen better.
My package came really quickly. I think after ordering my bear came within 5 or 6 days. Talk about super quick! They had it packaged in plastic inside a box. I found it packaged nicely, but my one beef was that it came smelling like a warehouse, very dusty/musty. I am allergic (so of course I buy a stuffed animal)...so I wasn't thrilled with this aspect. Of course there are remedies to dealing with stuffed animals, some you can wash in the washer and my sister suggests to put into a pillowcase to keep it safe (she says she ties her stuffed animals into two pillowcases and then washes and dries them.). You can also try to put the stuffed animal in a pillowcase and drying without washing or even with a natural dryer sheet. I've tried anti-allergen sprays, you can spray it with a body spray, or wipe with wipes of some sort. I guess these are all things you have to experiment with and google to see see what works for you or not. I have washed animals only to ruin their fur or stuffing, so this is something to be wary of. I did not contact the company about it, because I liked the bear and I don't know what they would've done. Stuffed animals are going to get dust in them...period. So I used my techniques, so I can cuddle my bear without sneezing.
Overall: this is an awesome website with wonderful, stuffed animals. They have price ranges from under $10 up to over $200. It's easy to browse and just an overall pleasure to shop from this company.
