| ceeceesmom's Full Review: General Reviews of MCI Worldcom Customer Service |
From the experiences I've had with both my fiance's cell phone service and mine in the past year alone, I have come to think that all cellular services are full of #@%@! However, MCI - Worldcom Wireless, by far and large TOPS THE CHARTS!
None of the cellular companies ever give you straightforward information. Always expounding how THEIR plans have the lowest rates, BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE, MOST awesome calling plans, packages, etc., etc., etc. However, there are ALWAYS those teeny, tiny little *footnotes* on contracts that are Never VERBALLY divulged and only later discovered when the invoice arrives! A cellular bill for the amount of $200 for ONE MONTH, when you've purchased a package for $29.95/mo which is supposed to include 600 minutes and you KNOW for a FACT that you HAVE NOT used even half of those 600 minutes! All of sudden, you find yourself going over your invoice with MAGNIFYING glass because you're being charged for EVERYTHING from incoming calls during 'off peak' times that are NOT COVERED IN YOUR PACKAGE (one of those teeny tiny, undivulged footnotes), for calling in to check your own voice mail, for calls that you are certain you NEVER even made, and for calls that were supposed to be covered in the package that you THOUGHT you paid for!
Here is where we get to MCI WORLDCOM WIRELESS ... unlike the other companies where you can actually get through to a customer service rep. (even if you do have to hold for what seems like an eternity!), MCI WORLDCOM WIRELESS seems to have either 1) NO LIVE PEOPLE WORKING FOR THEM or 2) TOO MANY ANGRY AS HELL PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF CALLING IN AND NOT ENOUGH EMPLOYEES TO ANSWER THE PHONES! Whichever the case may be it's extremely frustrating and a lose/lose situation for customers who NEED to speak to someone in order to resolve issues and have questions answered about their invoices!
My fiance and I tried for NEARLY TWO WEEKS to get through to LIVE PERSON at MCI WORLDCOM WIRELESS to discuss some very serious issues regarding an invoice. We were consistently unsuccessful. No matter what time we called we were often not even given the option of holding! More often than not the recording simply advised us to try our call at another time because of the large volume of calls. On some occasions the recording gave us the option of contacting MCI WORLDCOM WIRELESS via EMAIL. Given this alternative, we tried sending THREE emails in ONE WEEK to no avail!
This hold up caused our account to go into COLLECTIONS! When the collections bill arrived there was another number to call. Actually there were TWO numbers, one of which WAS NO LONGER IN SERVICE! We thought we'd finally gotten lucky when we were actually put on hold for 30 minutes in order to speak with A LIVE PERSON! However, when a live person came on the line, we were told that we had reached the collections department and that if we had questions concerning our cellular package we had to contact the number that we had been trying for NEARLY TWO WEEKS!
Needless to say, we are NOT HAPPY and not going to honor our contract with this company.
Customer service is 85% of everything and if a company cannot even provide REAL PEOPLE to talk to about something as simple as a question pertaining to their cellular package to something more complicated such as RESOLVING SERIOUS ISSUES pertaining to invoice problems, then the company should not even be in business!
