Well I have been wanting one of these Hands-Free units for quite a while. But none worked with my hearing aid. So when I was at a customers home and my cell wouldn't work in her area, I asked to use her phone to call my husband to let him know I was leaving. She had this GE 900MHz Hands-Free Cordless Phones. It worked just fine with my hearing aid. I was so pleased! I asked her how much and where I could find it. She said Target for 29.95. I went straight there.
So at Target there was two to choose from for 29.95. A black unit and a white unit. I chose the white, and away I went. The cost is way cheaper than most other models and it has worked everytime I have used it. Which is mostly while I am working or on the computer.
So out of the box it comes. The white model # is 2-9917 where the black one is 2-9918. There is absolutly no difference beside's the color. So you take each part of its own plastic bags. Make sure you send off the registration card right away. All you will need to set this up is an outlet and a phone jack. If all the phones in your home or office are cordless, make sure there is at least one phone that is not. The cordless phone will not work without electricity.
Make sure you have all the parts: base unit, handset/headphone, 2 batteries, headset hook, AC power adapter, and a Telephone line cord. Don't forget the base unit must live by an electrical outlet as well as a telephone jack. First off pick where your base unit is going to live.
Charging The Batteries:
1-Plug the power supply cord into the power 12v DC jack on the base and into an AC outlet.
2-Place handset or just the battery itself into the base to charge for 12 hours. The CHARGE/IN USE light (on the base) comes on to indicate that the battery is charging.
If you do not charge the Handset battery properly (for 12 hours) when you first set up the phone, performance of the battery will be compromised.
------------------------------------------------------------
Installation & Setup:
1-Make sure that the power supply cord is plugged into the POWER12V DC jack on the base and into an AC outlet.
2-Plug the telephone line cord into the PHONE LINE jack on the base and into a modular (standard phone jack) jack.
3-Set the TONE/PULSE switch to TONE for touch-tone service, or PULSE for pulse (rotary) service. If you don't know which type of service you have, check with the telephone company.
4-Slide the base RINGER switch to ON if you want the unit to ring for incoming calls. (The RINGER switch is located on the same side of the base as the antenna.)
5-Raise the base antenna.
6-Attach the headset hook to the slots at the back of the base. You can rest the headset here when the phone unit is not in use.
------------------------------------------------------------
Placing or Receiving Calls:
Whether you are placing or receiving a call, you just need to know the following basics:
*You need to use the headset to listen and talk.
*Press the PHONE button on the Handset to get a dial tone, to answer an incoming call, or to hang up.
*Placing the Handset in the base will also hang up.
*You cannot place or get a call while the handset is in the base.
------------------------------------------------------------
In Use Indicators:
BASE UNIT: The IN-USE indicator on the base unit comes on whenever the phone is in use, or when the handset is charging in the cradle.
HANDSET: The IN-USE indicator on the handset comes on whenever the phone is in use, and blinks slowly when the battery power gets low.

My Final Thoughts:
We have had this phone for over three months. It is so wonderful to be working or on the computer with my hands free. It is a lot easier for me, since if I have to write something, my writing hand is free to write. Instead of using my left hand to hold the phone, so I can use the right hand to write. With selling Pampered Chef I am on the phone a lot. There is either writing or typing involved on most of these calls. So I can easily go from the kitchen table to the computer which is in the garage with out missing a beat. The only downfall is that you do have to be careful when you bend over so that the unit doesn't fall to the floor. I can't even begin to think of how I have lived without this phone in the past.
